The Art of Comedy: Live Stand-Up & Fine Art Auction in Colorado Springs
Doors at 8:15 PM
At Peak Improv Theater, we’ve always believed comedy is an art form—but on Friday, December 12, we’re taking that idea to a whole new level. We’re thrilled to present The Art of Comedy, a one-night-only fusion of stand-up comedy and live fine-art auctioning that showcases some of Colorado’s most multi-talented performers.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when comedians let their creativity spill off the stage and onto a canvas… well, this is the night you find out.
When Comedy Chooses You (and So Does Art)
Many performers will tell you: nobody really chooses comedy—comedy chooses them. But what you may not know is that a surprising number of comedians also nurture another creative passion: visual art.
The Art of Comedy celebrates this duality. It’s an evening of comedy in Colorado Springs where the jokes hit hard, the paint strokes run deep, and creativity takes center stage in more than one form.
Each of our featured comedians will perform a full stand-up set—and then unveil an original painting they created just for this show.
Performers include:
Cameron MacKenzie
Maria Fetterhoff
Samara Suomi
Casey Dean Frase
Charley McMullen
After every comedy set, host and self-proclaimed “reluctant auctioneer” John Brown takes the stage to auction off the comedian’s artwork live. Expect laughter. Expect chaotic bidding energy. Expect the kind of auction only comedians could pull off.
Why This Night Matters
This show is a love letter to Colorado’s creative community. Our comedians aren’t just funny—they’re makers, painters, storytellers. The Art of Comedy gives audiences a way to support local performers twice over: through laughter and through art.
In one night, you can:
~ Laugh your face off
~ Bid on original one-of-one artwork
~ Support independent local comedians
~ Support independent local artists
~ Find a unique holiday gift you won’t see anywhere else
If you’ve ever wanted to own a piece of the Colorado comedy scene, this is your moment. And with the holiday season right around the corner, it might be the most meaningful gift you give this year.
