ABOUT CLASSES
Check out our public Class & Calendar to view class schedules through 2026. New 8-week terms start every other month!
Class Structure Improv 101, 201, 301, and 401 serve as the backbone of our teaching philosophy. If you took any of our classic three improv levels, Intermediate is equivalent to Improv 301, and Advanced is equivalent to Improv 401. Our Conservatory Program includes Improv 501, 601, 701, and 801. These performance focused classes are only available to students who apply and are accepted. Groups that graduate from these higher levels can be invited to perform at the PiT as a stand-alone improv team, or be cast on existing teams.
What class should I take? If you’re brand new to comedy, please only sign up for an Improv 101, Stand-Up 101, Sketch, or Clowning Class. If you have taken classes with us before, we ask that you refer to the prerequisites listed in the class descriptions.
Class Prices We have an option to support our community by paying $25 extra for a class. Please only select that option if you can afford it. If you pay the higher tier price, that revenue will go directly to providing financial assistance and tuition discounts for other students. You may also donate to our non-profit directly. If would like financial assistance, you can apply here.
Class Attendance Policy We do not offer refunds, or prorated pricing for missing classes. Your first drop-in for any Improv 101 class is totally free and you can register here. For additional drop-ins, we charge $25 per class attended. They may be purchased as items online for each term. Please register in advance, as some drop-ins may not be available if classes are full or cancelled. Drop-ins are transferable.
A Student ID is included with all purchases of a full term of classes. The Student ID entitles active students to free admission to all shows during the term priced $15 or less.
