ABOUT CLASSES
Check out our public Class Calendar to view class schedules through 2027. 8-week terms include January-February, March-April, May-June, July-August, September-October, and November-December.
Class Structure Improv 101, 201, 301, 401 and 501 serve as the backbone of our teaching philosophy. Our Conservatory Program includes Improv 601, 701, and 801. These performance focused classes are only available to students who apply and are accepted. Groups that graduate from these higher levels can be invited to perform at the PiT as a stand-alone improv team, or be cast on existing teams.
What class should I take? If you’re brand new to comedy, please only sign up for an Improv 101, Stand-Up 101, Sketch Writing, Improv For Anxiety or Clowning 101. If you have taken classes with us before, we ask that you refer to the prerequisites listed in the class descriptions.
Class Prices Starting in November-December 2026, one Improv 101 Class per term will be 100% free while spots last. All classes have an option to support our community by paying $25 extra for a class. Please only select that option if you can afford it. If you pay the higher tier price, that revenue will go directly to providing financial assistance and tuition discounts for other students. You may also donate to our non-profit directly. If would like financial assistance, you can apply here.
Class Attendance Policy We do not offer refunds, or prorated pricing for missing classes. However we can transfer your class tuition to a different eligible class or a future term. If you can only attend the first few weeks of a given class, you may purchase drop-ins for the weeks you plan to attend.
Drop-Ins A single 2-Hour week of certain classes are available to drop into for only $25 without the requirement to purchase 8-weeks of class. Those classes include the first 5 weeks of any of the following classes: Improv 101, Stand-Up 101, Clowning (101), Improv For Anxiety, and Sketch Writing. To purchase a drop-in for an eligible 2027 class, simply view our class calendar. If a class has drop-ins available you may select “Drop-in” to generate a unique payment link for that specific week of class. Students who have met or surpassed the prerequesites for other classes may drop-in by emailing the teacher at info@peakimprov.com to check class and drop-in availability. They may then make a $25 donation to our non-profit for each drop-in class they attend.
A Student ID is included with all purchases of a full term of classes. The Student ID entitles active students to free admission to all shows during the term priced $15 or less.

An introductory improv class designed to go over the fundamental building blocks of the art form. If you're new to improv, or want a review of the basics, our Improv 101 class can help you build listening skills and confidence.

Our second level builds on top of the basic skills learned in Improv 101. This class offers greater development of short-form improv games, scene based improv, and communication skills.

Our third level where we build on Improv 201 skills. Students will dive deeper into characters, scene work, and more advanced short-form improv games.

Our fourth level where we build on Improv 301 skills. We refine relationship driven scenes, stage presence, and finding the game within the game. This is the highest level class with open registration.

Looking for a way to improve your social skills, work on adaptable solutions, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment? Our new Improv For Anxiety class is designed for those who struggle with being overwhelmed, or have social anxiety, and caters to a neurodiverse population. Using games and exercises designed for those with language and social barriers, this improv class can help you relax and be present in the moment all while playing and having fun.
This limited size improv class is led by Meggan Hyde. Additional supports are available to provide accomodations as needed to students.

If you’re looking to get into stand-up comedy, or refine what you already have, look no further! Our stand-up comedy class is the perfect way to learn to write your own material, practice on stage in a safe and supportive environment, and gain real-world networking tools to be booked as a comedian.
