get on stage!

FREE EVENT THURSDAYS

Most Thursdays at 7:30PM come to our one of our free performance events where the community has opportunities to get on stage!

Improv Jam

First, Second, Fourth and Fifth Thursdays of each Month.

Hop on stage as we host improvised games, scenes, and songs. We provide a welcoming safe space to try improv, or just come by to watch! On Months with a fifth Thursday, an Improv Jam will be hosted on that Thursday as well.

FLOCKS’ LONGFORM JAM

Third Thursday of each Month

Jump up with other players to do some longform improv! Explore the art form by creating collections of scenes and narratives. Hosted by members of The Flock.

These events are free and open to the public. No reservation or tickets needed! We do accept cash/credit donations to help keep the lights on.

Improv Conservatory

A series of advanced improv classes designed specifically for those looking to be on an improv team and perform. Improv 501, 601, 701 and 801 focus on learning and honing long-forms, developing original games and forms, as well as polishing and presenting a show. Students must apply to be eligible for these high-level classes, and each application will be reviewed.

Applications deadlines are due two weeks prior to the start of the new term. Upcoming (September-October 2026 Term) DEADLINE: AUGUST 31 2026 at 12:00 AM.

If your application is accepted, you will receive a payment link to register for an Improv Conservatory class along with your score, and class level recommendation.

APPLY HERE

Acceptance or denial of applications is determined by a skills-based critera form. Teachers from previous classes will assess your performance in several specific categories, and based on this grade you may or may not be eligible for the Improv Conservatory. If we have not seen you perform, you will not be eligible for the Improv Conservatory. We reccomend signing up for at least one introduction level improv class (Improv 101-401), or attending some improv jams.

We will disclose your grades with a response to every application, along with a recommended class level. We do this so you can see what areas you may need to work on, and know which class we believe will be a good fit for you.

Improv Conservatory Application Status is never determined by personal feelings. This application process is simply an effort to ensure a degree of quality control for what we put on our stage, and to create a transparent process for students to see how they are doing.

Our Grading CRITERIA

We score each of the following categories with a number 1-5. One being the lowest, and five being the highest. Detailed breakdowns of these categories are included with your grade.

  • Listening

  • Stage Presence

  • Supporting Partners

  • Gameplay

  • Adaptability

To be eligible for the Conservatory, students must score a minimumn of 18 out of a possible 25 points.

Remember this is not a purely objective score, as improv and art is a subjective medium. We also can only score based on what we have observed.

We encourage students in Improv 301 and up to periodically do a self-assessment. Use the improv skill assessment below to see how your doing!

Improv Team Auditions

Monday Aug 31
& Tuesday Sept 1
6:30-8:30PM

We’re looking for more talented improvisers to join existing improv teams, audition for the 2026 Coached Ensembles, and to meet one another to form new teams.

The Peak Improv Theater is now home to over 20 improv teams, many of which need new players. If you’re interested in joining a team this audition will be viewed by representatives from the existing teams either in person, or via video. Then based on audition performance you may be invited to play with a team.

We are also casting teams for our 2026 Coached Ensembles. Each teacher will draft a team of 5-7 players, then have one month to rehearse and coach a 25 minute form. The four teams will all play and receive scores. The winners get a paid performance slot at the Peak Improv Theater.

Even if you’re not sure about making a team, this audition is a great way to meet other folks looking to get on stage. Come and have fun, meet some like-minded friends and feel free to form your own team based on who you vibe with.

Dates and Times

All auditions will be held at the Peak Improv Theater. If you select more than one audition day, we will notify you with the date you are assigned no later than August 28th. If you need to know which date your audition will be held before then, please only select one date.

Audition Registration Closes on August 25th at 11:59 PM.

Audition Day #1 will be held on Monday, August 31st 6:30-8:30 PM
Audition Day #2 will be held on Tuesday, September 1st 6:30-8:30 PM
*Audition Day #3 will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd 6:30-8:30 PM

*
We will only hold a third day of auditions if both Monday and Tuesday reach a max capacity of 25 auditioners.

Coached Ensembles

If invited to join a coached ensemble team, you will receive an invitation via email by 5:00PM on September 4th. If you did not receive an email, it means you were not selected to join a coached ensemble team.

The Coached Ensemble performances will be held on September 25th from 7:00-9:00 PM. Call time for performers will be between 5:30-6:00 PM. Doors will open at 6:30 PM. Tickets will be $15.

Rehearsals for Coached ensembles will be held weekly at the same date/time each week on the weeks of September 6th, 13th, and 20th. When casting we will make determinations partially based on availability. In your invitation to join a team you will receive a set rehearsal schedule including three practices. To be eligible to perform, players must be able to attend at least two out of three practices.

Being Cast on an Existing Team

All teams will have access to view these audition tapes, and many will send representatives to the auditions to watch in person. Invitations to join already established and performing teams does not guarantee you a permanent performance position. You may be invited to join a team for some rehearsals to see if you and the team work well together. You may receive multiple invitations from teams. Please do not accept more than one invitation at a time. If offered multiple invitations, you may select which team you’d like to play with. Invitations will go out at varying times from these different teams, however if you have not received an invitation by October 1st, then you have not been selected to join a team.
